And I Quote...

To any moms out there: Have you ever said something to your children, and then think, "Did I really just say that?" Well, I had one of those moments the other day when I commanded my child to stop doing something that seemed really strange. As a mom, I say things that no one else really says in the work place or in public. I'm not talking about anything crude... but you'll get the picture in a bit.

On the evening that I took the kids to the Pet Parade, I had my 10-year high school reunion, and of course that makes you start remembering things or thinking about things that you hadn't in a while. One thing that I did in high school was yearbook. My senior year I was the copy editor, which is code for the person that was appointed to proof-read all the stuff before even bothering the real editor with it. At least it gave me a sense of fake importance.

Ahem... Anyway, that year we put a lot of quotes in the yearbook, and it was the staff's job to write down what different people said in class or in the halls with a brief description of what was going on. It made for some pretty funny things, and for good laughs around the yearbook room.

So today, I played a little game with myself. I wrote down some of the everyday things that can be heard coming out of the mouth of the matriarch (that's me!) of the our home- well, at least today. If you ask nicely, I'll tell you what the circumstances surrounding some of these quotes are later.

Did you pee-pee?

He just wants to suck on the duck.

Get your hand out of your pants.

Norah, get out from under the bed. What did you do?

Did you poo-poo?

Haddon, don't dump the toys out.

Get your hand out of your pants.

OH NO! Haddon! STOP!

Please stop drooling all over.

I'll get you toilet paper. Go back to the bathroom.

Get your hand out of your pants.

Hey, you're gonna take my pants off!

Norah, pick up the bread in your room.

Do you want more juice?

Get your hand out of your pants.

And yeah, I did have to say some things over and over. I think if I were to be quoted in the yearbook, I might have been embarrassed.

lol, that is funny! Hmmm...sounds like some of the things that I say! I would like to hear the stories behind them someday! :)
