We're...

Some may be wondering how all these visits to Washington are going, and although we're not sure how to answer, there are some things that we can say:

We're tired! Today marks our third visit, and it's been a stretch for us to make these road trips each weekend. Last week was a welcome break. With the visits there is a lot on our minds and hearts, and still many questions. That is tiring too!

We're thankful. We are always blessed to meet other saints, and this is a church that has some very sweet believers in it. They are a pleasure to be around, and a sweet and loving group.

We're unsure. We don't know if this is where the Lord is leading us, but we do know that He will be faithful to guide and direct our steps. We're waiting on Him and relying on Him to show us if Casey is a good fit for this body of believers as their pastor, and if they are a good fit for Casey to shepherd.

That's where we are. Please, continue to lift us up in prayer as we seek God's wisdom.

Haddon Eating Ice Cream

Don't tell Norah, but last week when she was at the kids club program at church, we took Haddon out to ice cream. Here are some cute pictures taken on my phone:

And I Quote...

To any moms out there: Have you ever said something to your children, and then think, "Did I really just say that?" Well, I had one of those moments the other day when I commanded my child to stop doing something that seemed really strange. As a mom, I say things that no one else really says in the work place or in public. I'm not talking about anything crude... but you'll get the picture in a bit.

On the evening that I took the kids to the Pet Parade, I had my 10-year high school reunion, and of course that makes you start remembering things or thinking about things that you hadn't in a while. One thing that I did in high school was yearbook. My senior year I was the copy editor, which is code for the person that was appointed to proof-read all the stuff before even bothering the real editor with it. At least it gave me a sense of fake importance.

Ahem... Anyway, that year we put a lot of quotes in the yearbook, and it was the staff's job to write down what different people said in class or in the halls with a brief description of what was going on. It made for some pretty funny things, and for good laughs around the yearbook room.

So today, I played a little game with myself. I wrote down some of the everyday things that can be heard coming out of the mouth of the matriarch (that's me!) of the our home- well, at least today. If you ask nicely, I'll tell you what the circumstances surrounding some of these quotes are later.

Did you pee-pee?

He just wants to suck on the duck.

Get your hand out of your pants.

Norah, get out from under the bed. What did you do?

Did you poo-poo?

Haddon, don't dump the toys out.

Get your hand out of your pants.

OH NO! Haddon! STOP!

Please stop drooling all over.

I'll get you toilet paper. Go back to the bathroom.

Get your hand out of your pants.

Hey, you're gonna take my pants off!

Norah, pick up the bread in your room.

Do you want more juice?

Get your hand out of your pants.

And yeah, I did have to say some things over and over. I think if I were to be quoted in the yearbook, I might have been embarrassed.

Silverton Pet Parade

I took the kids to Silverton on Saturday morning to watch the pet parade. Kids line up with their pets, and some dress up for it too. For instance, we saw two little girls that dressed up as fairies and so were their sheep. Any kind of pet that you can imagine was in the parade: dogs, cats, chicken, horses, and snakes! Norah wanted to take Salt and Pepper, but I wasn't in the mood to try and transport our sturdy fish.

Here's an idea of what went on:

Jacob, my oldest nephew, in the orange shirt, walking Ginger.

Haddon asking his "Nanna Tin" for more candy.

Noah is in this blue car with his friend Jacob, I believe. He and his big brother were the only ones to walk/ride in the actual parade.

Norah and Logan are only about 10 days apart, and they are a kick to watch interact. Here they are quite mesmerized with something. Norah's favorite thing was a weiner dog dressed up in a hot dog costume. She just laughed and laughed at that!

Ah, yes. Haddon was into the candy.

And Norah was into grabbing the candy. Sadie, got in the shot. Thanks Sadie.

Pumped for Park Pals

So, we went to the last meeting of the Mom 'n' Tot play group with the church, and this week, since it is actually nice, was at a nearby park where we have gone several times.

Here's our pal Micah... being a little cheeseball!

Norah and Josiah thought up this pose. Gotta loves those legs!

Norah LOVES Cami. She wants a little sister sooo bad... I have to watch and make sure Norah doesn't try to steal her!

Brothers: Cade and Miles... and Cousins! The kids were very happy to see these guys were there.

Cami the Cutie...

The H-Bomb...

Haddon in a bubble.

Norah in the sunshine- yay! We Oregonians are itching for those rays!

Josiah, "Take my picture!" Okay, Siah.... How could I say no to that face?!

Cade is just a doll. Always a pleasure to be around, and I can't get over his big blue eyes!

That's it. We were certainly pumped for the fun we had today and will miss those Mom 'n' Tot groups, but we're thankful for the times that we've been able to make it.

Club Norah

Tonight Norah went to Club Rocksalt, an AWANA-esque children's program at church, and before leaving, Casey was asking her is it was "Club Norah."

No! It wasn't. And then she proceeded to tell him the story of what "Club Norah" is...

First, Norah eats her food, and it goes into her stomach and shouts, "Hey let us out of here!" Then the food builds a clubhouse or tree house (depending on what version she's telling), but they build it too high. And that's what makes her cough.

So that is what Club Norah is: a bunch of food in Norah's stomach that comes to life as it is digested, and builds a Tower of Babel that causes her to cough.

Later, her dad asked if she would let her food out. (Daddy has a knack for starting interesting conversations, huh?!) She said, "Nope. That's why my mouth is closed. Hmph." And with lips shut tight, smiled in a sassy sort of way.

There you have it. Now you all know the inner-workings of our first-born's stomach.

Without Asking

Today we're expecting some dear old friends for dinner, and so I was kind of tidying up the house as dinner was cooking. I was in Haddon's room putting toys away, and I hear: CLUNK! CLUNK! CLUNK!

What was that?

I looked into Norah's room across the hall, and there he was. My little man was picking up the toys in his sister's room. With each drop of a toy was a CLUNK.

I didn't ask him to do it. He just did. Without any asking or commanding.

It was very cute. And he proceeded to finish the job. Mom didn't even have to bother with that room. He did great!
